Boy did this come on time. I seen on fb people starting the 30 day challenge as I would call it. Sad to say but we should always be thankful for something each day and not just around Thanksgiving. However it is a great reminder.
1 Thessalonians 5:18: Give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus.
Give thanks in all circumstances, meaning good times and bad times, Thanksgiving or Valentine's and so on.
On my way home from the salon today, I was thinking (I know watch out now) about why I'm not happy anymore. What has changed in my life that I'm not thankful for life. I've realized that my "focus" has changed and I need to get back to what matters in life and stop focusing on or better yet, quit engaging in my own pity party. I become more thankful when I'm doing for others and not just me but doing it with the Love of God. When it comes from me, it will not fulfill that empty gap.
So this time of reflecting on what I'm thankful for has come again at the right time. My prayer is that I will not just reflect on my thankfulness for fb or blogging but to make a change in my life. To stop focusing on the negatives in my life and make positives happen.
Day One:
I wrote on fb that I'm thankful that I was able to eat a can of soup. The first solid food in a couple of days. After reflecting more, I'm thankful that I have insurance. Granted it's just strep but the testing, doctor visit, and meds can all rack up if you don't have insurance.
Day Two:
I wrote that I'm thankful to have money in the bank today. I'm a couple months behind on all my bills and it's nice to have money in the bank so I could pay up my bills. I work with so many clients that do not have bank accounts and live pay check to pay check. I'm grateful that my mom taught me how to save and being "tight" with money is NOT a negative thing.
