Day Seven

Address:
Ruth 2:5-8

Scripture:
Boaz asked the foreman of his harvesters, "Whose young woman is that?" The foreman replied, "She is the Moabitess who came back from Moab with Naomi.  She said, 'Please let me glean and gather among the sheaves behind the harvesters.'  She went into the field and has worked steadily from morning till now, except for a short rest in the shelter."  So Boaz said to Ruth, "My daughter, listen to me.  Don't go and glean in another field and don't go away from here.  Stay here with my servant girls.

Observation:
Ruth caught the eye of Boaz and instantly he told her to stop labouring in the fields.  He was ready to take care of her as he said don't go anywhere else, don't go in another field but let my servant girl take care of you.  I can only imagine after her hard work in the field all day what she looked like and even smelled like but she still caught his eye (favor).

Application:
Ruth was focused with the work at hand and that was gleaning (gathering leftovers) over the field and she did it with her whole heart.  I need to stop worrying about other life's circumstances and do what I'm currently doing with my whole heart.  Whether that's my job, finances, relationships, or myself.  The Lord will recognize and bless me because of my dedication of the treasures he has already given me.

Prayer:
Lord I first come to you and ask for forgiveness for not always giving 100% to my work at hand.  I think my excuses of why I don't are valid but they are not.  Lord help me not to be so concerned about the things and people around me but to dedicate my all to the things you have already blessed me with.  Lord I know you see me and my heart.  May it be pleasing to you.  Thank you in advance for seeing ME.  In Jesus name, Amen.

I am not what I ought to be.
I am not what I want to be.
I am not what I hope to be.
But still, I am not
What I used to be.
And by the grace of God,
I am what I am.
