Thoughts of Spring

Spring Blog Hop Party...

Photobucket

DATE: March 1st, 2011 – March 8th, 2011
TIME: Starts at 12:01 am on 3/1/11- Ends at Midnight on 3/8/11

I'm not looking forward to Spring due to reason's out of my control but ALOT of people are.  I am however always up for a blog party.  I enjoy blogging and possibly winning a gift is an extra bonus.  There are questions you can answer to help the blogging family know more about each other and a Mr. Linky to link your page up.  You don't need a blog to participate.  If you want more information about this Blog Party, click the button above.

These are the four questions that I hope to answer for the par-tay!
  1. Be brave – tell us something very random and weird about yourself.
  2. If you inherited a million dollars, what is the first thing you would do with your money?
  3. Strange Talent? Can you juggle basketballs, put your legs behind your head or some perform some other strange feat?
  4. What is one of your favorite things to catch a whiff of?
I'm always up for getting to know my blog family and those I follow.  If you want to participate or see some fun questions to answer just because, then come aboard. Or just come back to see the answers to the questions I picked.  Toodles!

All Praise Be To God Almighty

Shouting...

HALLELUJAH, THANK YOU JESUS!!!

"This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us.  And if we know that he hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have what we ask of him" --1 John 5:14-15

My car is READY!  I first want to say how thankful I am to be able to drive a vehicle from my job. It's in really bad shape but it didn't matter.  I'm thankful for family and friends who prayed for me, and I'm thankful that I believe in a God that hears my voice, cries, and heart. I thankful for God's favor, grace, and mercy.  It has been the longest 2 weeks of this month.  It was two weeks ago from this day that "Millie" decided she had enough and needed some TLC.  As I have shared, the dealership never called me the whole two weeks.  Today was their first call to me and it was to tell me my car was done.  Yes, I'm thankful for those words but not knowing anything and having people concerned about me was hard.  I called five of the fourteen days and ironically, I kept getting, we don't know what's wrong with your car, we are still trying to determine what the problem is.  Then one answer was we think it's this and we order parts and it won't be in for another 3 days.  Then the call right after that, we still don't know anything.  Why?

Nevermind the why, I'm thankful for favor and that I do not have to purchase a new car which was my fear.  Everything was covered except for $210 for diagnostic.  Thank you Lord!  This is my awesome testimony, and God deserves ALL the PRAISE!!!

This was the first time that I didn't break down emotionally.  I really gave the situation over to God.  Matthew 6:25-26, talks about not worrying about your life, which is anything pertaining to what you are going to eat, wear, decisions, and situations.  He takes care of the birds in the air and our lives are just as important if not more than theirs.  God brought this scripture to rememberance during this time and let me tell you, I have seen some really fat birds lately.  Just this morning while brushing the snow off my car, their were at least 5 birds on a branch near by.  Their bellies were soo big.  I thought, man they are so eating good.  Isn't it amazing that God takes care of us the same way and even better.

With this second chance, I WILL take better care of my car.  God blessed me with Millie, she is MY first car that I purchased and put every single mile on her except 3. I'm going to work on cleaning her out and keeping her maintenanced appropriately.  I've been blessed with her and I want to show God that I can be responsible for more of his blessings.

Lord, thank you so much for your favor on my life.  Thank you for your grace and mercy.  Thank you for your love.  It's by your might that I have been blessed, not by anything grand that I have done.  Lord continue to order my steps as I get my priorities in order and take care of my business.  I love you.  Your name I pray, Amen.

What's Your Poison?

Poison according to Dictionary.com is a substance with an inherent property that tends to destroy life or impair health.

With that being said, FOOD and Sweet Tea (according to my doctor's nurse).  I love to eat all the wrong things at all the wrong places at all the wrong times.  Point blank!  However, it has taken over my happiness for a VERY long time.  I can say without hesitation that I'm not a fan of dieting, exercising, or healthy people that don't understand why I'm not a fan.  I'm one of a few people who have tried dieting, invented their own dieting efforts, exercised until it felt like a leg fell off and still battling the IH syndrome (impaired health).

I was reading my good friend Pam's page.  You should read her blog, she has an amazing testimony.  She is an amazing friend, a super social worker, an excellent wife and mom, a perfect scrapbooker (who got me started) and a survivor of cancer. While talking about her steps in moving forward, she mentioned a website called myfitnesspal.  Usually when I see anything about fitness or being healthy, I blackout in the mind (if that makes sense).  It doesn't register and I keep going BUT something drew me into the website.  Maybe the word Free, maybe the word support group...I really don't know.   So I signed up and started Monday.  If you decide to join, look me up at Heavenseyes3 and let's start encouraging each other.  We are all in this race called life together and we need each other, spiritually, physically, and mentally.

I'm still not healthy nor do I like to keep a food diary.  I haven't wrapped my mind around the concept yet because I don't want to set myself up to fail like before so I've been trying to keep this non-chalant attitude of "If I lose weight, great/super or if I don't, cool".  Overall, I know that I know that I know that you know and everyone knows that I need to lose weight, get healthy but MOST important, see myself as God see's me and love me for who God has made me.

My food diary (my mom gave me) and inputting items at myfitness pal while cooking dinner.  Shocker I know!

So let's get this party started...Go exercise kitty!
Now with it just being me, I don't cook alot but I really enjoying cooking.  I know weird huh?  I usually get my food fast on the way home at one of the many fast food places on Food Lane America.  When it's just you, it seems so pointless alot of times to spend so much time in the kitchen and dirty up dishes.  I used to invite my aunt and the family over for dinner and play games and loved it.  I was always trying new recipes on them.

But I'm worthy to treat myself to a home cooked meal and need to start doing it more often.  I would probably save a ton of money.  So on my first night of watching what I'm eating--No not the "see-food" diet as I would call it but really being conscience of what goes in my tummy.  I fixed, Salmon over white rice (with a little spray butter) and steamed broccoli.  It was great!

I worked out on the Wii for almost 30 mins last night-26 mins.  I waited so late to start moving that I was ready to go to bed.

There is a song that we used to sing in church (I had a solo back in elementary) and the words say...
Please be patient with me, God is not through with me yet
Please be patient with me, God is not through with me yet
When God get's through with me, When God get's through with me
I shall come forth, I shall come forth as pure gold.

Oh, wait, youtube it, duh...

I'm Letting The "Experts" Handle It

Is...My life in 6 words...
I've been without a car for a week now and it's been the longest week this month.  My baby has been in the shop since last Friday.  I have called the dealership everyday since Wednesday asking if they knew anything yet. They tell me, we don't know anything, we are still trying figure out what it is.  The mechanic has order some parts that won't come in until next Tuesday.  He thinks it might need a new engine.  Okay, what about a loaner car?  Well I'm hoping to get a couple in today.  I've called everyday and the same answer, I don't know when they are coming in but I still have a couple coming in.  The experts have not been very helpful and rank 0 in customer service this time.

I have shed some tears over this situation.  I know that people are dealing with bigger issues than I am and there is no excuse for me to be so upset over this.  I think knowing that the are giving me the run around because I am a woman and not really being able to do nothing about it is hard.  Then it's just me here. I'm thankful for the women's bible study I'm in.  Their prayers have meant alot.  I'm thankful that my work is allowing me to use a vehicle.  This vehicle is in worse shape than my car but I'm THANKFUL.  I don't know how long they will let me us it otherwise, I would have to rent a car or just take vacation days.  I want to try and take the city bus but I need to be emotionally stable to do it because there's a couple of transfers and getting up extremely earlier and I don't want to have a cryfest on the bus.

I'm patiently waiting for my Boaz or Superdog...whoever hears my cry, I do enough of it!

It's FRIDAY-BABE!

Friday is FINALLY here!  I am more than Thankful that it's friday.  Doing my Friday dance!

It has been the longest week ever.  My car is still in the shop and after a week the dealership still can't tell me what's wrong with it and they are telling me they have no loaner cars and they don't know when they will.  REALLY?   It's times like these that I wish I had a husband to deal with such foolishness.

Rules for Five Question Friday: Copy and paste the following questions to your blog post, answer them, then watch for the linky to appear Friday morning! And, most importantly, HAVE FUN!!

Questions for Friday, February 18th:
1. Have you worn the same outfit more than one day in a row?
I sure have.  I work with kids (even if I didn't still would have) and I once changed into the same outfit for 3 days and finally one of the 4 year olds says, you look the same.  The teenagers argued with the little girl until I finally said she is right.  I've worn the outfit 3 times in a row.  Their face was priceless.

2. If you had to choose any LARGE city to live in, which would it be?
I prefer a small city but I guess I would choose Chicago, no particular reason.

3. Fly or drive with the kids on vacation?
Drive-take the scenic routes and stop at everything, even the giant corn castle.  Making memories is priceless.

4. What is your idea of "spring cleaning"?
My idea is not cleaning at all but it has to be done...a little of this, a little of that.  I guess going through the closet and donating old clothes, busting out the bleach and mopping, cleaning toilets, and all that fun stuff.

5. What is the best book you have ever read?
The bible of course, the next one is The secret life of bee's (great movie too).

Linky's

What a snow day!  My addiction was in full force today, I'm in a safe environment so I can tell you that I have been on blogs today for 9 hrs.  I know, shame on me.  I can't help it.  So I'm learning this link up thing and linked up to two blogs today.  I already follow http://dealiciousmom.com/on my RSS feed but added a new site http://www.debbiedoescoupons.com/.  They are very resourceful and I too hope to be like them one day and use coupons more and don't get scared in the stores to use them.  I know, I'm a nerd, there is nothing to be scared about but I just don't want them to say no, we don't take those.

I'm still learning the tricks and trade of blogging and was unable to figure out how to make it to where you could click on the buttons on my blog.  So you can click above on their names.

Wintery Bliss

I have been waiting all season for the snow to come down.  Bring it on!  I was sad earlier today because my mom's flight had been cancelled.  I didn't want the snow because I want my mom.  But since the snow is here and there is nothing I can do about it.  Let it snow, Let it snow, Let it snowwwww!

We finally got a snow day.  When I woke up this morning and looked out the window, I just knew I would have to go in but when I turned my work phone on and got the text that the office would be closed, I had to read it at least three time for it to be reality.  I had two friends last night rubbing it in of how they were off until at least Wednesday and I didn't know if I was off tomorrow.

Okay, we are supposedly in a "blizzard".  Well, I'm no expert nor did I really pay attention much in science class but I think this might be a case of some good ole snow fall.  I've never been in a blizzard, so my only example would be what I see on TV and this is nothing compared to what I've seen.  It all a hype.  Now, I did hear one of the anchors at noon say, briefly I might add, we are not in a blizzard but we are close.  Then they went to commercial.  I think he must have gotten a talking too because when they came back he was singing a different tune.  Of course the news station is covering a blizzard.  Love it!  No matter what you call it or what language you speak, SNOW DAY is universal.

Here is the view from my balcony...the frozen lake view to your left and the entrance into the complex to your right.

See my boots!  They keep my feet nice and toasty and they are vey stylish but no traction at all.

This is the front of my building.  Okay, do you see those empty car ports.  Well the red car is the only one that is suppose to be part there.  Shhh, don't tell anyone but I was going to park in one of them last night because I'm frankly tired of digging my car out of the parking spot.  I just knew I was going to have to go to work today and we were going to get off early, so I was going to park in a port when I returned but didn't have to go so I will be digging myself out when it's work time. Uggh!

When you are snowed it, a hearty bowl of anything warm, my poison is beef stew (today) always hits the spot.

Well off for a nap.  My mom was suppose to fly in tomorrow but her flight was cancelled and she rescheduled to Thursday.  Um, Mom, I know you are ready for a vacation but I don't know if 8 hrs is going to make a difference in this mess.  I want you here with me just as bad but safety is key.  Oh and I gotta clean up REAL bad.

Thank you Lord for the snow day and one more extra day to clean up this awful place.  Thank you for looking out for me.  Help me to use the best of this time after my nap. Love you.
