A Good Mechanic is Hard to Find

People have told me that I seem like a person that would live downtown and live like a city girl.  They said, it seems like I would live downtown and be the type of person who would walk around and commute by bus.  I fun as that sounds, I'm a country girl.

However, these people may be saying something that I need to take heed too.  It seems like I always have problems with my vehicle or problems with the people working on my vehicles.  This weekend is no different.

Time really is flying by.  It just seems like yesterday when I got my last oil change but it's been more like 4-5 mths.  I know sad!  I told myself and God that after my last incident, I would take better care of my car.  I haven't done a good job with my end of the bargin.  No excuse really just I'm not keeping up with time.

So I went in yesterday to get a oil change, wheel balance and ailgnment.  At the car place for 2hrs and they don't have wi-fi, really.  I was able to connect to the home depot line but it had all kinds of blockers on their website.  So couldn't watch any movies or youtube.

About an hour in, I seen the manager get summoned by the mechanic working on my car.  I was thinking great.  What are they going to tell me about my car.  This is why I don't get my car serviced because it's ALWAYS something.  So the manager comes in and says,

Manager: We got your oil changed and wheels balanced, we are waiting for the guy who does alignments to finish the car he is working on and then yours is next.  Where did you get your oil change done last?
Me: The dealership.
Manager: Okay, Yaddy Yaddy Yaddy...(All these mechanic words) We found an oil leak and it this happens one of two ways, if you scrap your car up against something, which we don't think that's what it is because there are no scrap marks or when you got your oil change done last time by them, they tightened it too much and split the pain. Come with me and I will show you want I'm talking about so when you tell them you will know. Yaddy, yaddy, yaddy...(more talking)
Me: How much would a new plate cost?
Manager: Let me go look it up and I'll get back to you.

Manager: I left a message at the dealership and when they call me back, I'll let you know the price.
Me: Do you think that you all could have done it? (As I was thinking, it's been at least 4mths since I've had my last oil change and I hadn't seen any oil spills anywhere).
Manager: Oh No.

Manager comes back a little later: I can't say if the dealership did that or if we did that but since you are a valued customer, we are going to take care of it.  The dealership parts department is closed so we will call them first thing Monday and I will let you know when it comes in so we can get you back in.
Me: Okay, thank you.

Before Oil Change                                          After Oil Change

As I opened the garage to leave for church today, Ugh!

This was confirmation that they had caused the split in the oil pan.  So I called the mechanic just to let them know that it was confirmed that they caused the split.

Me: I'm calling to confirm that the leak was caused my your store.
Manager: Well I can't say.

Okay, I can say and so can my pictures.  They say that a picture is worth a thousand words.  How about 4 pictures?

Now, I'm stuck with cleaning the garage up.  I'm sure my landlord wouldn't be very happy if I had oil everywhere.  Not a very pretty sight.

My poor baby has to be parked outside for the first time since being in our new home.  A storm is abrewin in the background.  There has been sighting of hail and everything.  I pray that it doesn't make it this way.

I'm so thankful for the Lord for looking out for me and working in this situation.  It could have been worse and more of a struggle if the manager didn't agree to fix the problem.  He doesn't want to admit verbally that they caused the leak but his action speaks louder than words.

Trustworthy people are hard to come by, so it's more important now to depend on the Lord and use our faith for Him to work out our situation.  There's a saying, "Men (whether mechanics/car salesman...) are always trying to get over on women".  As true as this may be, my God is bigger and will take care of me!

Thank you Lord for looking out for your child.  Thank you for having mercy on me and loving me for who I am.  When I went to the garage this morning to leave for church and I saw this mess, I wanted to stay home from church and sulk.  Lord with your strength, I made it to church. Lord, I pray that you continue to give me peace in regards to my car.  Please allow the stains in the garage to come up easily.  Lord, I pray that I will be blessed soon with a new car that is reliable and stress free.  A car that will travel well on the road so I can vist my parents, grandparents, and family/friends that live away from me.  Lord you have always shown yourself approved.  Thank you. In Jesus name, Amen.
