I Made My First Ever Tamale

I was invited to a Tamale Party and had the best time ever.  I actually made, rolled up my first ever Tamale.  It's not as easy as it looks.  The masa, the corn meal looking stuff was actually tricky to get on the corn husk appriopriately.

I would love to do this again and master the art of rolling Tamales.  I do not know how the ladies in Mexico ever did this.  I definitely would have been in the clean up crew.  I think more than ever, I appreciate the work that goes into making Tamales.

I might share the recipe on here a little later so you can try at home.

This Job is Wearing Me Out!

I think this picture says it all.  I'm ALWAYS so exhausted when I leave work.  Today, I had an extra hour commute home due to a wreck on the highway and they shut it down for a couple of hours, can we say fun detour.  Okay, it really was fun watching people's faces as many of them were mad or frustrated about the traffic.  Why?  Just roll with the traffic, find a good station, and get your camera ready (oh, only I do that) and enjoy the 2hr commute.

When I got home at 5:30p.  I was asleep by 6p and woke up at 9:30p.  I missed phone calls, dinner, shows, and the opportunity to enjoy the nice weather.  Grr!  I don't even have enough strength at times to even look for a new and better job!  The life of a social worker!

It's 6 word Saturday.  While I was writing this, I came up with 2 more sets of 6 words but I'll stop for now.  Such a fun link up and and to see what other people come up with.  Think of 6 words that describe your life.  You can explain, blog about it, use a picture, or say nothing at all.  Sometimes you don't even need words.  Have fun!  It really does come easy.  Click on button below to link up.

He has Risen from the dead!

Before you take up residency, BELIEVE in the one who was resurrected!  He is no longer in the tomb but with us everyday, there is no excuse not to believe and have a RELATIONSHIP with Jesus!

All Praise Be To God Almighty

Shouting...

HALLELUJAH, THANK YOU JESUS!!!

"This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us.  And if we know that he hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have what we ask of him" --1 John 5:14-15

My car is READY!  I first want to say how thankful I am to be able to drive a vehicle from my job. It's in really bad shape but it didn't matter.  I'm thankful for family and friends who prayed for me, and I'm thankful that I believe in a God that hears my voice, cries, and heart. I thankful for God's favor, grace, and mercy.  It has been the longest 2 weeks of this month.  It was two weeks ago from this day that "Millie" decided she had enough and needed some TLC.  As I have shared, the dealership never called me the whole two weeks.  Today was their first call to me and it was to tell me my car was done.  Yes, I'm thankful for those words but not knowing anything and having people concerned about me was hard.  I called five of the fourteen days and ironically, I kept getting, we don't know what's wrong with your car, we are still trying to determine what the problem is.  Then one answer was we think it's this and we order parts and it won't be in for another 3 days.  Then the call right after that, we still don't know anything.  Why?

Nevermind the why, I'm thankful for favor and that I do not have to purchase a new car which was my fear.  Everything was covered except for $210 for diagnostic.  Thank you Lord!  This is my awesome testimony, and God deserves ALL the PRAISE!!!

This was the first time that I didn't break down emotionally.  I really gave the situation over to God.  Matthew 6:25-26, talks about not worrying about your life, which is anything pertaining to what you are going to eat, wear, decisions, and situations.  He takes care of the birds in the air and our lives are just as important if not more than theirs.  God brought this scripture to rememberance during this time and let me tell you, I have seen some really fat birds lately.  Just this morning while brushing the snow off my car, their were at least 5 birds on a branch near by.  Their bellies were soo big.  I thought, man they are so eating good.  Isn't it amazing that God takes care of us the same way and even better.

With this second chance, I WILL take better care of my car.  God blessed me with Millie, she is MY first car that I purchased and put every single mile on her except 3. I'm going to work on cleaning her out and keeping her maintenanced appropriately.  I've been blessed with her and I want to show God that I can be responsible for more of his blessings.

Lord, thank you so much for your favor on my life.  Thank you for your grace and mercy.  Thank you for your love.  It's by your might that I have been blessed, not by anything grand that I have done.  Lord continue to order my steps as I get my priorities in order and take care of my business.  I love you.  Your name I pray, Amen.

I'm Letting The "Experts" Handle It

Is...My life in 6 words...
I've been without a car for a week now and it's been the longest week this month.  My baby has been in the shop since last Friday.  I have called the dealership everyday since Wednesday asking if they knew anything yet. They tell me, we don't know anything, we are still trying figure out what it is.  The mechanic has order some parts that won't come in until next Tuesday.  He thinks it might need a new engine.  Okay, what about a loaner car?  Well I'm hoping to get a couple in today.  I've called everyday and the same answer, I don't know when they are coming in but I still have a couple coming in.  The experts have not been very helpful and rank 0 in customer service this time.

I have shed some tears over this situation.  I know that people are dealing with bigger issues than I am and there is no excuse for me to be so upset over this.  I think knowing that the are giving me the run around because I am a woman and not really being able to do nothing about it is hard.  Then it's just me here. I'm thankful for the women's bible study I'm in.  Their prayers have meant alot.  I'm thankful that my work is allowing me to use a vehicle.  This vehicle is in worse shape than my car but I'm THANKFUL.  I don't know how long they will let me us it otherwise, I would have to rent a car or just take vacation days.  I want to try and take the city bus but I need to be emotionally stable to do it because there's a couple of transfers and getting up extremely earlier and I don't want to have a cryfest on the bus.

I'm patiently waiting for my Boaz or Superdog...whoever hears my cry, I do enough of it!
